Millennium Mobile Pantry
This is a very exciting time for the Millennium Centre and the local community bringing the first ever Mobile Pantry in the country, to West Derby Village. It is a huge team effort, we are working alongside Fans Supporting Foodbanks, Your Local Pantry, Ian Bryne (Labour Member of Parliament for Liverpool West Derby) and St Andrews Church Action on Poverty.
What is a local pantry?
Pantries work slightly differently to a food bank model, providing customer independence in the food they choose. They are sustainable and help to prevent food waste; food is collected from surplus stock at supermarkets. Members pay a small weekly fee of £3.50, then choose their own items from the stock. To find out more check out Your Local Pantry website.
How do I become a member?
Go on the Your Local Pantry Website, click ‘Find a Pantry’. Find Millennium Mobile Pantry, click sign up and follow the online instructions.
The Pantry is for those who are struggling with bills and need support, the application form reflects this and certain criteria need to be met.
Where and when is the Millennium Mobile Pantry?
It takes place in the Millennium Centre Car Park.
Every Friday 10am-1pm
Will the Pantry continue during Lockdown?
Yes, the Food Pantry is essential to support those in need and will remain open as government guidelines state. We are following guidelines and keeping the Food Pantry Covid safe. Please wear a mask and maintain social distancing when attending.
Can I donate food to the pantry?
Yes, you can donate food or money to support the Pantry. Please bring donations along on Friday during pantry open times, or half an hour before we start. If you have tinned or store cupboard food they can be bought to the centre any time during our open hours and placed in the donation box near the entrance.
